Hello! I'm an Associate Professor in Interaction Design and Transportation Systems and Design at ArtCenter College of Design. My areas of expertise include human-computer interaction, design research, strategy, and futurecasting. I think of myself as a designer, educator, and futurist, in no particular order.
During the course of my career I have worked as a designer at NASA/JPL and Idealab, built e-learning solutions for USC, and designed interactive exhibitions for MUMOK Vienna and the Natural History Museum of Rotterdam. I love teaching and have taught at universities in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as executive training for Fortune 500 clients . I helped create ArtCenter's MDes in Interaction Design program which embodies my ethos of blending futurecasting with the human centered design process to create more equitable and sustainable futures.
I'm particularly interested in the design of mobility and aerospace systems, emerging technologies, and design for social/environmental impact. In 2015, I had the incredible opportunity to deliver a TEDx talk titled “Designing Change for Good” at TEDx Crenshaw in Los Angeles. You can check it out below.
